the winds of revival began to howl.
Snuggled down in my toasty bed
I came to witness the beast in my head
Wrestling holding grabbing cheating
Lying to protect the illusion so fleeting
I rolled over to stop the noise, when,
The front door blew open, and then,
In swirled the wind to stir me from sleep.
"Good morning," he said, "my gentle sheep..."
"I am your shepherd, long have you been lost
Wandering in the desert, enduring the frost
Calling for me and feeling so alone
Searching endlessly for the way back home.
Forgetting that I am always here"
And with that final word he came very near...
Lifted the covers and tickled my chest
A breezy omen led me back to the nest.
Into the dreamtime, yet more than ever awakeI found beneath my bare foot a black snake
Whose luminous stripe led me straight into the night
Of the soul, the storm, the fear and the fright
To the foot of my mountain, rising straight to the sky
I was met by a puma, with golden sparks in her eye
Up she began and showed me the way
Many times I would fall, many times did I stray.
She was ferocious, unrelenting, yet kind
Continually leading me out of my mind
Never giving up, never letting me to quit
Strengthening my resolve, testing my grit.
With the summit in sight, she disappeared out of view,
Behind her was rising a day that was new
A brilliant New Sun preparing its light
And its messenger an Eagle, Golden, in flight.
To reach higher, to fly, I knew
I could carry only what was True.
Looking down at my hands, my feet, my shell,
I wept, and cried out, to my knees I fell.
For once, I surrendered, I let go...there I died,
The mountain stream washing over beside.
Then the rays of the sun crested burning above
Setting ablaze the remnants, and giving birth to love.
There looking down on the ashes I awoke
With the wind on my chest and the faint prayer of smoke.
Beneath me unfolded a valley of gold
Just as the prophesies and legends foretold.
Grazing below in the grasses so sweet,
My flock, brothers and sisters, as we had agreed to meet.
My wings held me high, on the breath of the breeze
And beyond the valley rose a forest of trees.
Scanning and feeling and listening I knew
In that dark forest were lost more than a few.
My work was ahead, that "awake" was the start
Diving deep to awaken, open doors, open hearts.
The work of the shepherd, the Eagle, the wind,
Seeking sheep that have also forgotten, my kin.
I come as a messenger, a child of the Truth
With the wisdom of ages, and the essence of youth.
Open your doors, awake from your slumber
Turn your eyes within, for we are not getting younger,
The journey home is short but the trail it is winding
If you think you are already there, it's illusion you're finding.
There's night vigil to keep, there are mountains to ascend
To our wings we are beholden, the Inner Sun we must befriend.
A Glorious morning dawns on the valley and I,
From deep roots in the earth, wake and reach for the Sky.
I take up my staff, feel my wings, and the wind on my chest,
Till my flock all comes home, not a night will I rest.
I will move with the wind, through the rain, through the night
Committed, and blessed, to keep carrying the light.
Not alone, do I walk, but with Guide,
Serpent, and Puma, Golden Eagle inside.
Our Destiny is Golden, nothing less than the Best,
When we wake up and walk, run, dance, fly, to return to the Nest.

Alright Eric, I knew you had it in you! So good to see your light. TVG
